Food allergy is an immune system reaction that occurs soon after eating a certain food. Only a small amount of the allergy causing food allergy reaction can trigger signs and symptoms such as digestive problems, shortness in breathing may cause. In some people, a food allergy can pose severe symptoms or even life-threatening reactions.

CAUSES OF FOOD ALLERGY

Food allergy is due to small food components present in food inciting reactions. They are normally proteins that resist heat of cooking, the acid in the stomach, and the intestinal digestive enzymes. When the allergens components cross the gastrointestinal lining, they enter the bloodstream, and go to target organs, causing allergic reactions throughout the body. The system of food allergy involves the immune system and heredity.

Dog food allergy

Dogs, like human beings, have allergic responses when their immune system overreacts to certain foods and substances. When they enter the body, the offending substances, called antigens or allergens, set off an alarm. This alarm stimulates the body to produce antibodies to defend it against what it perceives as a threat–the allergen invaders. The antibodies attach themselves to immune cells, called “mast cells,” within the skin and other body tissues. When the allergens penetrate these tissues’ surfaces, they are captured by the antibodies, which then stimulate the mast cells to release powerful chemicals in nearby tissues. These chemicals are called histamines which cause inflammation and itching.

Food allergies rash

Food allergy rash is quite common. People with food allergies can suffer minor symptoms such as a mild skin rash but the reaction sometime can be more severe. In more serious cases, the symptoms are much more dramatic and life threatening. The major problem with food allergy rash is when the reaction is more serious. There is no particular cure for a food allergy rash. The only way is to undergo regular allergy tests. Certain foods are considered very famous for food allergies like, eggs, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, sea foods etc

Baby food allergies

Baby food allergies act in the same way like other food allergies in process of any allergic reaction occurs when the body mistakes something like a food or pollen as a harmful and dangerous invader.  The body reacts by releasing antibodies called immunoglobulin E (IgE).  The IgE in turn prompts the body to release chemicals known as histamines. The symptoms such as runny nose, itchy eyes, skin rash appear on the body. One way to eliminate baby food allergy is called “four day wait rule “. One food at a time and then wait for four days is a good strategy for the treatment of food allergy and it is particularly important at the time of new solid foods. You can stop or eliminate that food in future. People with food allergies must stop eating the foods that trigger their allergies from their diet.

Treatment of food allergies

Firstly we should be well aware which food produces allergy in our system and should stop them eating. The second way is called desensitization the use of very small amount of that food but it is not an effective method. Antihistamine is useful for swelling and can be taken by mouth give good results. Sometime  some people are so sensitive to food allergy that they should carry syringes with them to avoid serious condition.
